65% of Americans believe data privacy is the most pressing issue we currently face. At RainedOut, we believe that your data is your data. Many free messaging platforms make money from selling their customers data - and some of them are in the news for the wrong reasons.
We also know that ads can be bothersome and the number #1 request from you is longer messages.
Meanwhile, the costs we are charged by the carriers to send text notifications is increasing and the number of messages being sent by RainedOut customers is growing.
For these reasons, we are making some changes at RainedOut.
What stays the same and what is changing?
We have never sold your data and promise we never will.
We are removing our ads. We are making our message capacity longer.
Account set up, sending notifications and receiving email notifications will continue to be free.
Subscribers to accounts created on or after 11/1/19 will be charged $7.30 to receive text notifications - this works out to 2 cents per day. Subscribers to accounts created before 11/1/19 that wish to receive text messages will be charged $7.30/year beginning on 1/1/20.
