US Youth Coaching Modules
For the Youth Modules a coach completes the following:
Step 1: Take the the US Youth Online course for U6-8 and/or for U10-12.
Step 2: And then must complete the field sessions at the location most convenient
for their schedule.
Please note: *Youth Module Field Session
requires completion of the US Youth Soccer Online course prior to
registration for the field session. The Youth Module candidates must go
to this link to take the online portion of the US Youth Module and
then register for a Field Session at the location best fitting their
schedule.” The Field Sessions are listed under the Scheduled Courses
section of the COACHES Tab.
The Field Session for the Youth Module is open to all candidates
who have completed the USYSA Online Youth Modules. Please bring your
certificate of completion and a lesson plan for the activity of your
choice.

Date and Time will be determined once we have enough coaches complete the online portion of the course.
Cost: Free to all PA West Coaches
Bring pen, notepad and ball. Dress to play.
U6-U8 Youth Coaching Module - Field Session
This course focuses on age
specific knowledge for U6-U8 players such as the rules of the game,
characteristics of the U6-U8 players and coaching techniques for this
age group. Candidates should bring notepad, pen, water, and soccer ball.
- Philosophy of Coaching and Characteristics of U6/U8 Children (Classroom)
- Field Session with coaches (Gymnasium or Outdoors)
- Discussion on P & C, Team/Risk Mgt., Modified Laws - (Classroom)
- Field Session with U6 Players: U6 Activities, 3 v 3 game on appropriate field (Gymnasium or Outdoors)
- Field Session with U8 Players: U8 Activities, 4 v 4 game on appropriate field (Gymnasium or Outdoors)
Course length: 6 hours

U10/U12 Youth Coaching Module - Field Session
The U10-U12 course takes the successful U6-U8 course and adapts it for
coaches with older players. Adaptations include: Rule changes,
characteristics of U10-U12 players and coaching approaches for players
in this age group. Candidates should bring notepad, pen, water, and soccer ball.

- Field Session with coaches (Gymnasium or Outdoors)
- Discussion on P & C, Team/Risk Mgt., Modified Laws (Classroom)
